It was drama yesterday as the Wife of the Olusupare of Supare-Akoko, in Ondo State, Olori Sefiat
Adedeji, was arraigned before a chief
magistrate’s court for allegedly fighting in public.
Sefiat was accused of fighting Mrs. Comfort Awogbamila on May 4, 2012.
Part of the charge against her reads, “That you, Comfort Awogbami and Olori
Sefifat Adedeji, on May 4, 2012, at about 8pm at Supare Magisterial
District unlawfully involved yourself in fighting in public at Ugbe
quarters, Supare Akoko, and thereby committed an offence contrary to
Section 83 of the Criminal Code cap 37 Vol II, laws of Ondo State.”
The monarch’s wife and her co-accused were also
charged with conduct likely to cause breach of the peace contrary and
punishable under Section 249(d) of the Criminal Code Cap 37 Vol II laws
of the state.
Police Prosecutor, Steven Dickson, said there are
four witnesses that would testify against the accused and that he was
ready to proceed with the case.
The Chief Magistrate, Olubunmi Olujuyigbe, however fixed June 7 for the hearing of the case.
