Community women plan nude protest over land acquisition & police harassment

Umuana, a community in Umuahia North Local Government area of Abia State, which has been in the news recently over government acquisition of land in the community, has been thrown into more confusion. The situation is assuming a dangerous dimension, as women
in the community are threatening to go naked if the authorities continue to harass youths and leaders of the community that have been resisting what they termed an illegal land acquisition.

People of the town are apprehensive, saying a number of their leaders and young men have already been arrested by security agents on spurious allegations. The women said they would not leave the Ukwu-Udara Village Square until the police stopped intimidating people of the community.

ABSG we beg you not to allow your women go naked...biko!
