I’d rather use Keke NAPEP than travel by plane again —Granny who missed Dana flight

But for providence, Mrs. Ikechi Nwosu, 68, and her daughter, Nkiru Ihezuo would have been among the 153 persons that died last Sunday in the Dana plane crash.
The two women had planned to board the ill-fated plane, but they were beaten to the remaining seats on the flight by two Chinese men who
jumped the queue at the Dana airline counter and bought the last minute tickets.
Nwosu told our correspondent in Abuja that she was yet to recover from the shock of the crash, vowing never to take a flight again for the rest of her life.
The grandmother said it was like a dream to her when she heard that the plane crashed and killed all the passengers on board.
She stated that she was very angry when the two Chinese nationals jumped the queue and paid for the seats that her daughter wanted to pay for.
“I felt bad when the two Chinese men jumped the queue and paid for the ticket ahead of my daughter who was trying to bring out money from her bag to pay the cashier. When we missed the tickets, we decided to go back home because I was very angry.
“We postponed the trip although there were other flights going to Lagos. I am yet to get over the experience, I have been feeling uncomfortable and I have sworn that I will never take flight again; I will rather ride in Keke NAPEP (commercial tricycle) to Lagos, instead of travelling in a plane,” Nwosu stated.”

The daughter's story-

Ihezuo, narrated that she initially went to the Arik airlines stand, but their plane was fully booked, so she headed for Dana Air where she joined a queue for the ticket.
“We were on the queue and it was my turn to buy the ticket. I was rummaging my bag to bring out money to pay for the ticket when two Chinese men who were behind me gave money to the cashier and paid for the remaining seats. I was very angry and their action generated a verbal exchange between my husband and the cashier.
“The Chinese men were not even sorry for their action, instead they and their girlfriends made jest of us, waving the tickets in the air and making fun of us; we were so annoyed and we decided to postpone the trip.”
She added that she had yet to reach the house when she got reports that the Dana plane had crashed.
The mother of four said that family members that were waiting for them at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos cried when they heard about the incident. They thought that both mother and daughter had perished in the crash.
She stated that her church members in Abuja also thought she had died until they were notified that she did not board the aircraft.
Ihezuo said, “Since the incident, I have just been thanking God because He was the one that kept us. I have been rolling on my knees in thanksgiving since last Sunday and my knees are sore,” she said as she lifted up her skirt to show her bruised knees.
She stated that since she started flying about a year ago, the Dana flight was the first she would see that was fully booked, “I am familiar with most of the crew members because I have been patronising the airline for some time; I feel so bad for the crew and passengers.”
Ihezuo added she had purchased a luxury bus ticket for her mother who was going to stay with her eldest daughter at Festac, Lagos following her refusal to board a flight.

  3. The sacred is in the ordinary...it is to be found in one's daily life, in one's neighbors, friends, and family, in one's own backyard...travel may be a flight from confronting the scared--this lesson can be easily lost. To be looking elsewhere for miracles is to me a sure sign of ignorance that everything is miraculous. Cheap Flights to Lagos

  4. I have a very precise memory of the local train, the hot bricks and copper boxes filled with boiling water to warm us up. Someone in another compartment was playing the guitar. To the rhythm of the train's rocking movement, I heard the chorus "Porque yo to quiero, porque yo to quiero," and I traveled toward my Tonio telling myself, "Because I love you ... because I love you.

  5. The largest cities in the UAE are Dubai and Sharjah. These two cities have over 600,000 people each and beautifull desert safari, but the rest of the country is divided into smaller cities. Most of these cities are cosmopolitan, with many expatriates from the rest of the world. Listed below are the largest cities in the UAE.
