It was a pathetic sight at the Central Hospital, Oleh, Isoko South Local Government area of Delta State where an 18-year old beauty queen is presently receiving treatment as a result of injuries sustained in a kerosene explosion.
The victim Miss
Stella Ogbame, an indigene of Ada-Irri in Isoko South Local Government area and a student of one of the private schools in Oleh, wrote her final examinations recently, awaiting her graduation ceremony.
Known as “Miss Future Light”, having won the school’s beauty contest where she stood out as the most beautiful girl for the 2011 academic year, she is the eldest of the four children of Mrs. Ajiri Ogbame.
At the hospital, Mrs. Ogbame lamented the high cost of treatment, stating that the prescribed drugs for her daughter’s treatment is on the high side.
She called on well-meaning and kind-hearted individuals and the Delta State Government to come to their aid in order to offset some of the expenses already incurred as a result of the treatment.
