NTA Presenter Declared Missing In Lagos

The Lagos State Police Command on Thursday confirmed that a veteran presenter of Islamic programmes on NTA, Alhaji Razaq Lawan, popularly known as Gawat was missing. The Police Public Relation Officer (PPRO) of the command, DSP. Ngozi Braide, who confirmed the development to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), said the police would not rush to
describe Lawan’s case as that of kidnapping.
Braide said that Lawan’s wife, who reported the matter to the Adeniji Adele Police Station, alleged that she spoke to her husband last on phone on July 10 at about 4.45 p.m.
The spokeswoman said that Lawan’s wife told the police that when the husband called her on that day he said that he was going to Ikeja for a meeting, adding that since then she had not heard from him again.
Braide said that Lawan’s car was later found at Apongbon inward bridge by officials of the Lagos State Traffic Management Agency (LATSMA), adding that no incriminating item was found in the vehicle.
NAN reports that Lawan, who produces Islamic programmes, especially during Ramadan periods lived at Phase II, Jakande Housing Estate, Adeniji Adele Road, Lagos Island before he went missing.
The PPRO said that the case was still being investigated.
