[Sad!]....Gunmen open fire on worshippers during service in Maiduguri church

Gunmen suspected to be Boko Haram members on Sunday stormed a church at about 11a.m and opened fire directly into the church targeting the worshippers when the sermon was being delivered.
Five gunmen attacked the Church of the
Brethren – Ekilisiyar Yan’uwa a Nigeria (EYN) during service at Bulunkutu ward in Maiduguri metropolis, the Borno capital.
The attack, which could have been a bloodbath was averted by men of the Joint Task Force (JTF) as they promptly responded to the invasion of the church by terrorists.
According to some of the worshippers, the gunmen came to the church in a tricycle.
JTF Spokesman, Lt Col Sagir Musa, confirmed the incident at the church.
“They came firing into the church area but our men at the post rose to the occasion and fired back at them. We successfully repelled the attack and the gunmen fled immediately”
One police officer attached to the JTF was hit by bullet. He has however been treated and discharged from the hospital.
