Instructions
1
Contact your local telephone company and subscribe to the "Caller ID" feature.
2
Advise your telephone company that you would like to add a privacy feature to your telephone service that will allow you to block private and unknown numbers. Many telephone companies, such as Bellsouth & AT&T, use "Privacy Director." Depending upon your telephone company, the name of the feature may slightly vary.
3
Allow the privacy director feature to work for you. The privacy director will intercept the private call and provide the caller with an option to unblock their telephone number or identify themselves. If the party chooses not to identify themselves or unblock their telephone number, the call will be rejected.
4
Purchase call blocking hardware, such as Telezapper. Telezapper will not only block private and unknown calls, but will also help remove your telephone number from telemarketers who use private numbers.
