READ:

Women Arise for Change Initiative has joined many Nigerians asking questions about the recent mysterious death in Dubai of Toba Falode, a student studying audio production of Sound Engineering in SAE.

In a letter to Nigeria’s Ambassador Ibrahim Auwalu in Abu Dhabi, Joel Odumakin, Women Arise President, demanded his immediate intervention towards a thorough investigation of the matter, and due prosecution of those responsible.
She recalled that Mr. Toba was said to have "fallen off from a great heights," according to a terse report of the incident by the Dubai Police, adding that the report suggests that the deceased was alone at the time of the incident, and thereby erroneously concluding there was no need for further investigation.
“This doubtful conclusion was anchored on a concoction that "all witnesses statements are the same,” Women Arise observed.  “However, content of the supposed "same statements" was not represented in the Police report.  Further to this, it was learned when [the] mother of the deceased contacted lawyers for action, that private prosecution was not possible in Dubai, but only a State, in this case the Nigerian State, can prosecute for justice.”

Furthermore, the organization said that in order to obtain a comprehensive report of the incident, which would include representation of statements by witnesses, the Nigerian State is required to intervene.
“Now, with disdain, we are befuddled with awareness that the Nigerian Embassy has showed off weakness in this matter. With displeasure, we found that the Nigerian Embassy is aware that some young Nigerians have died under similar circumstance, but took no step for proper investigation was not taken, and no warning issued or precautions are issued to other Nigerians who are trouping or may be intending to travel into the country for studies or other related activities.”

Citing certain findings which make the police report to appear dubious, Women Arise asserted that Mr. Toba was certainly not alone at the time of his death as concluded by the police.  On the contrary, it said, she was with his girlfriend, Olivia Melanie Richard Evans, and Faisal Aldakmary Al-Nasser, who had allegedly accused the deceased of having an affair with his “girlfriend,” Olivia.

“The death or unfortunate incidents that involve Nigerians from their ignorance of dangers as they pursue better lives, since the Government failed to produce opportunities back home can be blamed on the Nigerian Government, particularly its embassies at various countries, for failure to live up to this task,” the group said, calling for the investigation.

“Women Arise shall follow this case through you to a logical end, with justice arrived at,” it assured Ambassador Auwalu.

PETITION
COMPULSORY JUSTICE FOR TOBA (TYLER) FALODE, A PROMISING YOUNG NIGERIAN MURDERED IN DUBAI.

Women arise has learned of the regrettable death of one of Nigeria's promising sons, Mr. Toba Falode, under mysterious circumstance abroad.
The young Nigerian, 19, was until his untimely passing on, a student studying audio production
of Sound Engineering in SAE, Dubai.
Mr. Toba was said to have "fallen off from a great heights" according to a terse report by the Dubai Police regarding the incident. The police statement on the incidence suggests that the deceased was alone at time of the incident. It concludes by stating there is no need for further investigation.
This doubtful conclusion was anchored on a concoction that "all witnesses statements are the same".
However, content of the supposed "same statements" was not represented in the Police report.
Further to this, it was learned when mother of the deceased contacted lawyers for action, that private prosecution was not possible in Dubai, but only a State, in this case, the Nigerian State, can prosecute for justice.
Also, to obtain comprehensive report of the incidence, which would include representation of statements by witnesses regarding the incidence, the Nigerian State is required to intervene.
Now, with disdain, we are befuddled with awareness that the Nigerian Embassy has showed off weakness in this matter. With displeasure, we found that the Nigerian Embassy is aware that some young Nigerians have died under similar circumstance, but took no step for proper investigation was not taken, and no warning issued or precautions are issued to other Nigerians who are trouping or may be intending to travel into the country for studies or other related activities. We are of the belief that the Embassy in a country has, as one of its prime duties, to collate happening to citizens in the country of call and make recommendations as to observations, opportunities, threats and other potential dangers inherent or surfacing there.
The death or unfortunate incidents that involve Nigerians from their ignorance of dangers as they pursue better lives, since the Government failed to produce opportunities back home can be blamed on the Nigerian Government, particularly its embassies at various countries, for failure to live up to this task.
As things stand, we are not even sure that the Nigerian Embassy has creditable records of Nigerians or their activities and happenings with them in various countries where they are searching for opportunities.
To make an example of this, we have identified facts in the issue as regards the incident that took the life of Mr. Toba Falode and demand Nigeria Government's intervention for thorough investigation and prosecution of culprits.
Findings outside of the Dubai Police report, which make the report suspected as dubious include that:
i. Mr. Toba (Tyler Falode) was not alone at balcony of his apartment as claimed by the Dubai Police report
ii. He did not fall from the 17th floor of the building all by himself. This was evident in the position on the ground where the body was lying relative to the building. "Falling" as claimed, would vertically down, but the position of the body on the ground in another demarcation outside immediate premises of the residence building suggests that he was "pushed" and did not "fall"
iii. Blood stain on certain Mr. Faisal, a young Arab man found on the balcony, but excused by the Dubai Police report is questionable. Mr. Faisal, now the suspect, is said to have claimed he was trying to rescue the deceased. On 17th floor, before the doubtful "fall", a rescuer had blood of the victim on his knuckles and shirt?
iv. Mr. Faisal had reportedly been repeating that he'd "go for 25 years maximum in prison" immediately after the tragedy.

v. Certain lady, Olivia, known as Faisal's girlfriend was said to be at the Balcony too at time of the incidence, and was said to have been found weeping before Mr. Faisal appeared and assured her not to worry, adding that he'd go for "25years maximum". Reports had that Mr. Faisal had accused the deceased before, of having affair with his girlfriend, Olivia. The allegation, made out of emotion, had however been dismissed by the deceased, but another argument between Faisal and Olivia about the former's alleged affair with Toba by Faisal

vi. The Dubai Police upon arrival on the scene had reportedly taken Mr. Faisal to one corner and coached him in Arabic language, after which he no longer made the statement about "25 years maximum"
vii. Following the above was a report by the police, claiming that the deceased fell, all by himself.

Conclusion:

Toba was not alone on the balcony. He was with FAISAL ALDAKMARY AL-NASSER
AND MISS OLIVIA MELANIE Richards Evans
Women Arise demand full investigation through intervention by the Nigerian Government/Embassy.
We suspect fraud in the terse report. The Dubai police's gist on the incident has many holes, and raises many questions that warrant investigations.
The circumstance around the unfortunate death of Mr. Toba creates obvious mystery that call for investigation and the Nigerian Embassy must live up to this.
We demand your immediate intervention for thorough investigation and due prosecution of culprit(s) in this matter.
This is compulsory as it will lay a precedence for way and manner of treatment of Nigerian citizens in future.
Women Arise shall follow this case through you to a logical end, with justice arrived at.
Thanking you for anticipated action.
