US actress Angelina Jolie on Tuesday condemned as “unthinkable cruelty and evil” the kidnapping of over 200 schoolgirls in Nigeria by Boko Haram Islamists.
The star was speaking in Paris about the themes of her latest film “Maleficent” for Disney, in which she plays a vindictive fairy driven to curse an infant princess.

“Sadly of course there is real evil in the world, you watch the news and you see all of the people suffering and so much cruelty,” she told a news conference.
“And it’s unthinkable cruelty like these girls that were kidnapped in Nigeria. Unthinkable cruelty and evil,” she said.

It will recalled that a total of 276 students were kidnapped in Nigeria’s northeastern Borno state three weeks ago when Boko Haram stormed their school under the cover of darkness and loaded them onto trucks. Several managed to escape but many girls were still being held, according to police.

  1. It is shame to see how timid and weaker the Nigerian army forces are. Niger should take example form a country like Sri Lanka. Who completely wiped out one of the world’s most powerful terrorists group called LTTE. With compared to LTTE who had aircrafts, submarines, tanks and over 25000 soldiers Boko Haram is nothing but a groups of preschool robbers.
To destroy Boko Haram Nigeria only needs few intelligent Generals and new military equipment with political commitment. That is what Nigeria lacks at the moment.
