Laws created are meant to guide the citizens of every society and anybody that violates these laid down rules and regulations surely will be punished. In Nigeria, there are laws guiding every activities in the country including choice of words. Compared to our foreign counterparts, everything counts and that is why....
people feel that the foreign society is more civilized.
As peace gradually sets in the Nigerian entertainment sector over royalties, every bodies handling the affairs of music in the country are beginning to sit up as there has been total war on either artistes royalties or taxation on any show organized in the country. Hmm, Nigeria must grow.
Recently, the Performing Employee Association of Nigeria (PMAN), have pounced on rib cracking comedian Bovi after he brought American singers, Rapper, Ja’Rule and Ashanti to perform in his ‘Bovi Man on Fire’ show held at the recently in Lagos.
PMAN have demanded N3 Million on taxation for the comedian’s international artistes and Bovi has fumed over this demand. He said that it was not right and could affect the growth of the industry.
What a pity for Bovi who will have to pay for the accommodation of his international guests, pay them for their performance, pay for the hotel itself used to host the event, including flight ticket and for his other friends of the guests that came in with them.
Drop a comment...thanks!
