THE Federal Road Safety Corps has revealed that the authentic fee for the renewal and obtaining of drivers’ license has not changed from its initial fee of N6,360 (six thousand three hundred and sixty Naira only).
The Corps also advised Nigerians, especially applicants, not to.....
pay the fee to any officer or uniformed men so as not to fall victim of any dubious act while educating people on the due and made-easy process on how to renew as well as obtain drivers’ license.
The enlightenment was made at a day workshop for heads of drivers’ license centres (DLCs), on Wednesday, with the theme: “National Drivers’ License: Improving Service Delivery and Productivity.”
The event, which gathered Heads of DLCs in the South West region, also had the attendance of top officials of FRSC and some of the officials of the Oyo State Internal Revenue Board led by its chairman, the Revenue General, Alhaji Isiaq Zakariyau.

Also speaking at the event, the deputy corps marshal, Mr Charles Theophilus, also enjoined applicants on the need not to engage in any unofficial or illegal payment which could either cause delay or non allocation of drivers’ license, but to follow the due process.

The host of the event, the Sector Head, Drivers’ License Centres, Oyo State, Mr Muhammed Nasir, who lamented the ignorance of people in applying for drivers’ license, educated applicants on the due process, saying that “the actual amount is the sum of N6, 000, while the N360 is the bank charges.

“Applicants can log on to the website at their comfort to follow the simple process on how to apply for either renewal or to obtain drivers’ license as well as the mode of payment either through e-payment or the bank process. Afterwards, applicants are to take the slip to any VIO centre for endorsement and later be taken to FRSC for capture without paying a dime.
