If Mrs. Evelyn Uzodinma, a mother of two from Egbu in Owerri North
Local government area of Imo State had known that she would be brutally
murdered perhaps she wouldn’t have gone to her farm on Friday June I
where she met her death.
According to her husband, Mr. Nat Uzodinma who narrated the incident
to
LEADERSHIP Sunday said that he met the lifeless body of his wife in a
farm, the head severed from the rest of the body.
Uzodinma who was devastated with the death of his wife disclosed
further that his wife only went to a nearby farm to cultivate cassava
and after several hours of waiting as the day turned dark he decided to
go in search of her.
He said that he was shocked to see his wife mutilated, with some
organs of her body removed. At that point he said he knew that her wife
had been killed by ritual killers.
Another neighbour of the Uzodinma family also disclosed that she saw
the late woman going to her farm at about 4pm with her farm tools.
It was said that the community was observing a burial ceremony which
made the people of the area to avoid going to their farms that
particular day. The suspected ritualist may have taken advantage of the
ceremony and attacked the woman at the lonely farm.
Meanwhile, the incident has been reported to the police who are making efforts to trace the killers.
