Rumours have been making the rounds that
Olawale Ashimi, popularly known as Brymo, has quit his contract with
Chocolate City. The speculation is coming a few weeks after MI’s younger
brother, Jesse Jagz, quit the record label.
The news began when the singer tweeted that he had left the record label. he tweeted, “it is true i have left Chocolate city.”
Saturday Beats gathered that the singer
put the posted the tweet probably in annoyance because he was
reprimanded by the...
record label for misbehaving. It was gathered that
the bone of contention because of a picture Brymo posted of himself
smoking Indian hemp on his instagram page. His record label asked him to
take the picture down because it was denting the image of the company
but the singer refused so he was scolded. prior to that, the singer was
said to have been arrongant towards his record label. For instance, he
some months back during a show in London, he and Ice Prince was meant to
perform the Oleku song but he refused to join Ice Prince on stage.
However, Saturday Beats learnt from the
CEO of the record label, Audu Maikori, that Brymo has three album deal
with the label and has only dropped two.
He said, “I can confirm that Brymo still
has a valid contract with Choc City, so we do not understand where
these stories are coming from. Following news surfacing on social media
platform, Twitter, our attention has been drawn to the rumours about
Brymo AKA Olawale Ashimi claiming he has left Chocolate City.
“For purpose of clarity, Brymo has a
three-album deal with Chocolate City of which he has delivered only two,
it is ludicrous that anyone will believe that a person can just tweet
his way out of a multi million naira contract.”
