A couple Rufai Abolanle with his wife, Olubokola are both currently
facing trial at the Chief Magistrate Court 1, Lokoja, Kogi State for allegedly calling a neighbour "Boko Haram",
The court report state that Rufai Abolanle with his wife, Olubokola of Charvid Estate
Lokoja allegedly committed a joint act of criminal intimidation,
defamation of characters and intentional insult against their neighbour,
Mallam Aliyu Jimoh with his family contrary to section 79,392,397 and
339 of the criminal panel code by calling him and his family Boko Haram.
According to the report, Mallam Aliyu was so furious and ran straight and reported to
the police that the accused persons jointly addressed him, his wife and
children as members of Boko Haram terrorists thus insulted them and threatened to deal
with them through juju unlawful means.
When the charges were read to the defendants, they couple denied and said that the allegation was false and baseless, insisting that the claimants
were out to settle a personal problem with them which can be settled
out of court.
The police prosecutor S.I Ikutenida said the case was for mention, explaining that investigation was on-going. However, In its ruling, the court stated that it has
jurisdiction to hear the case and admitted the couples to bail with the
sum of N50 million with two sureties who are civil servants and
submission of two recent passports to the court. The case was adjourned for hearing till March 14, 2012.

Let the couple go to prison they are stupid for that useless behavior of theirs. next time they wont dare call them neighbors boko haram.
ReplyDeleteThere is more to this news, just by calling a man and his family Boko-Haram then it turned out a court case? This doesn't worth going to court if i should add.
ReplyDeleteMalam Jimoh aliyu lied on the couple and took them to court in order to ensure they were disgraced. But the couples were eventually discharge and aquited.
