Shot on the Leg by a Nigerian police..Hussein cry for Justice!

Mr Hussein Akinwande an Information Technology (IT) engineer was lucky to have escaped death on Sunday, February 12, at the hands of a policeman attached to
Ejigbo Police Station known as idiot Corporal Tayo.
Akinwande described how he and some members of his family were returning from a naming ceremony when the incident happened along Jakande Road.

Hear Hussein..“We were coming back and at some point, we saw that a truck had broken down and blocked the road. “Luckily, some youths came around to push the truck off the road so that vehicles could move freely. “They were doing this, passing vehicles first from one direction and then, the other direction when suddenly, we saw this policeman, who came out from a corner with a gun and a bottle of rum in his hand. “He started beating drivers who were trying to explain why they were driving against the traffic. “All of a sudden, he started shooting into the air and people around ran for safety.”

Akinwande further narrated that he came down to ensure none of his family members was hit by any of the bullets but in the process, he got close to Corporal Tayo who held onto his clothes, dragged him and tore his shirt and used the butt of his gun to hit him on the face. “Before I knew it, he shot me on the leg. I was lucky because I was wearing jeans and a cover shoe.”
In the confusion that ensued, Corporal Tayo ran away only to return shortly after, having pulled off his uniform. “He came back in mufti, but with another officer who also shot into the air to scare people away before both men hastily rode off on a motorcycle,” Akinwande said.

He continued:  “ We immediately reported the shooting to Ejigbo Police Station where he serves and the Divisional Police Officer directed us to speak with his deputy, who told us they would look into the case.
“I wrote my statement and I was given a Police Report to go to Isolo General Hospital.
“ Since then, nothing has been heard of the matter, but the DPO called my mother to say that  the officer was in detention but we were not allowed to see him to know if it is true or not. “  It was confirmed by another officer at the station that Corporal Tayo came in drunk that night.
“We were also told that when his bullets were checked, they found out that he had used 10 of them.
“I am lucky to be alive but he could have killed me that night as has happened so frequently to many innocent Nigerians.
 Finally...
Hussein Akinwande is now appealing to the Lagos State Police Command to look into this matter and ensure that justice is done. We hope so!
“If he is not punished, hungry drunk Corporal Tayo may kill an innocent Nigerian the next time he gets drunk on duty.”

Pathetic is all i can say! Share your thoughts...thanks!
