Canada set to screen skilled migrants before arrival

Skilled immigrants to Canada may soon have to certify their
educational credentials with third parties before arriving in the country, according to a new proposal by the immigration ministry.
Canada welcomes some 250,000 new arrivals every year, mostly skilled professionals, investors and entrepreneurs seen as filling key gaps in the local labor market.

However, many of the immigrants discover after their arrival that their credentials are not recognized in the country, resulting in doctors and lawyers working as taxi drivers and waiters.???????????

The proposed evaluations would give potential immigrants a better idea of how their credentials match up with the needs of the Canadian labor market and weed out those not qualified to work, officials said.
The screening process would not guarantee employment or result in the awarding of appropriate professional licenses.

  1. So why another screening process if will not "guarantee employment [nor]result in awarding appropriate professional licenses". Another way of making money off poor immigrants, eh! The conservative government is trying to make immigration to Canada very difficult. They need to be stopped. Canada is a country of immigrants. They should stop acting like they have exclusive rights to live in Canada.

    1. For real man, i agree with you but the thing is that the hand writing is clear on the wall that they don't need excessive immigrants anymore ( some with half baked certificate posing as skilled immigrants). You will also agree that these jokes are trying to safe guard their country and their economy.

  2. I think wat Canadian govnmt are doing is right afterall. The evaluation process will give highly skilled immigrants the opportunity get a job as soon as the land in Canada, instead of a phd holder washing plate in a restaurant if his certf does not match.
