Julius Berger Workers Allege Maltreatment...referred to Nigerian workers as 'Black Monkeys'!

Some Nigerians working with the construction giant, Julius Berger, have cried out against alleged anti labour  practices and
maltreatment by the management of the company.
The workers, who lamented the maltreatment to LEADERSHIP exclusively, expressed sadness that Federal Government does not care about the treatment being meted out to its citizens by the company.
They also claimed that  their employers often  referred to Nigerian workers as "black monkeys".
The workers alleged that the construction company denied them the right to unionise, adding that those they choose as the union leaders are the cronies of the management.
"The management refuse us the right to unionise freely, what they do is to appoint those that are loyal to them that cannot say anything against their maltreatment by both the white and black bosses".
While reacting to the allegation, the PRO of the company, Mr. Clement Ilobor described their claims as false and baseless.
According to him"I can tell you none of this is true. Please come over to the office and speak to the union officials".
However, speaking with LEADERSHIP, the chairman, National Union of Construction, Engineering, Civil, Furniture and Wood Workers (NUCECFWW) Julius Berger chapter, Comrade Akeem Lawal exonerated the company from the allegation of promoting anti labour activities.
Comrade Akeem added the company does not employ casual workers but that " the first four months of each worker in the organisation is considered as probationary".
