KAI official pushes man to death..

An official of the law enforcement unit of the Lagos State Ministry of the Environment, Kick Against Indiscipline, on Wednesday killed a man in the Ikoyi. The deceased, a hawker selling plantain chips was
soliciting customers on Osbourne Road when the KAI official attempted to catch him for disobeying the state government’s law on street trading.
An eyewitness said, the KAI official, who was in company with some policemen, attempted to arrest the trader when the incident occurred.

The eyewitness, said that in a bid to apprehend the hawker, the KAI official pushed him towards an oncoming vehicle and he got crushed. He said, “I was on my way to work around 8am when I saw a man chasing after two plantain chip hawkers. “The hawkers immediately noticed that the man was a KAI official because he was wearing a green khaki pair of trousers, and they took to their heels.
“One of the hawkers was able to cross to the other side of the road but the other one was not so lucky as he was grabbed by the KAI official. However, following the struggle that ensued, the official pushed the hawker unto oncoming vehicle.

“The hawker was immediately hit by two oncoming vehicles and he died on the spot.”

This angered bystanders, who chased after the KAI official and beat him to a pulp.
Our correspondent learnt that in a bid to disperse the angry mob, the task force, which had three patrol vehicles, led by one Inspector Bernard Ojie shot three men in the legs.
It was learnt that men of the Rapid Response Squad attached to the state police command immediately arrived at the scene and the injured persons were taken to hospital while the corpse was evacuated.

It is F**king high time Lagos state government call their foot soldiers to order especially, LASTMA & KAI. There is a procedure for this job!
