An inmate at the Okene Medium Security
Prisons, Lucky Samuel, who is accused of criminal conspiracy and armed robbery
on Wednesday in Lokoja
told the Kogi Chief Judge, Justice Nasir Ajanah,
that he was not an armed robber.
Mr Car thief Samuel told the Chief Judge, who was reviewing
warrants of Awaiting Trial Inmates at the prison that ``I Thief Samuel only stole a
car which was parked in the absence of the owner but was never involved
in armed robbery''.
The inmate, who is standing trial before
a Lokoja Senior Magistrate Court on a two-count charge of criminal
conspiracy and armed robbery, said the police framed the charges against
him. >> *coughs*not impossible.
Samuel further said he only disconnected
the ignition of the jeep he stole in Abuja that led to his arrest,
adding that his friend, one Hadi Ibrahim, who knew nothing about the car
theft, was also detained at the prison and was being tried along with
him.
Ajanah asked why the inmate was not summarily tried but kept in prison since June 24, 2011 when he was arraigned. The Officer in-Charge of Legal Matters
at the Kogi Police Command, Mr Theophilus Oteme, told the chief judge
that the accused did not confess the crime while in police custody. lol police

Well i do not know if he will be charged for Thiefry or Robbery?
I don't know what y'all think?
I mean the thief is right since he didn't rob the car at gun point. So how can you charge him for robbery then? Like Usaveone said, maybe he will be charge for thiefry.
