State Hisbah Command from the 44 local government areas of the state last week Sunday arrested 80 alleged commercial
sex workers Ashewo at
Kwanar Gafan village of Garun Malam Local Government Area of the state.

The Public Relations Officer of the command Musa Tanko, explain that the arrest is meant to
sanitise the state in line with existing laws against prostitution.
He
disclosed that Kwanar Gafan is a notorious prostitution hub and other
criminal activities in the state, saying it took the operatives several
hours before they were able to round up the suspects.
Mr Tanko also confirm that the command had conducted series of tests on the suspects which revealed that some of them were HIV/AIDS positive, while a number of others were found to be pregnant.
