Nurse fingered in baby sale absconds after bail

The Nurse at the centre of a case involving sale of a baby in Port Harcourt, Blessing Egbune has absconded after she was granted bail, the prosecutor has said. The case of alleged child theft involves Pastor George Brown of
Divine Encounter Holy Ghost Ministry, Rumuolumeni and Egbune and one Tina Tekebe, the purported buyer of the baby.
Prosecution counsel, Moses Oha said that he had written a petitioned to the State Commissioner of Police over the disappearance of one of the principal suspects.

The story...................\

The case pending before, Magistrate Betty Sunny-Hart of Court 10/13 Port Harcourt in Rivers State had it that Pastor Brown, sometime in October 2011, allegedly called out his church member, Mrs Grace Sunday, who was seven months pregnant at that time and told her that he (the pastor) saw a vision to the effect that what was in her womb was not a human being but a doll.
According to the complainant, in this charge, the pastor told her that a serious spiritual work should be started on her immediately so that the doll in her womb would change into human a being.
Each time Mrs Sunday went for “the Work” the pastor would allegedly strip her naked, pour Ribena into a basin of water and rob same all over the body of the woman.
On 15th December 2011, when in labour, the woman ran to the pastor, who was said to have called Egbune to take Mrs Sunday to her house.
The complainant told the court that while in the nurse’s house, the nurse ordered her husband to go home and that nobody should be allowed to see her.
The nurse is also accused of flogging and beating the pregnant woman with wooden instrument urging her to push while Tekebe, the alleged buyer of the baby was standing by.
The complainant said she went out to urinate under banana trees and there she delivered herself of her baby. According to her, she saw her baby, it was a baby girl and she heard her cry very well.
The nurse was said to have taken the baby away without caring to clean up the woman only for her husband to inform her later that the nurse told him that his wife gave birth to a doll.
It was at this point that she raised alarm crying out that she produced a human being, not a doll.

After court sitting on Friday, Mrs Sunday told Sunday Trust that though she is happy to have got her baby back, she is going through psychological trauma being in this situation.

  1. People this is wake up call. Everyone shine your eyes, and be careful of evil pastors roaring like a wounded Lion looking for whom to devour with their evil ways.
They are now in every nook and cranny of this country even outside the country. Godbless us all and reveal his truth to us.
