Residents overpower armed robber, recover N90,000

Residents of Asubiaro in Osogbo area of Osun State on Monday overpowered and apprehended one of the two-member robbery gang that snatched N90, 000 at gunpoint from a  man.

The robbery suspects, operating on

a motorcycle, snatched the money from an official of a cooperative society in front of the State Hospital, Asubiaro.
It was gathered that the cooperative official was coming from a bank and was about to enter the hospital when the incident occurred.
The criminal  pointed the gun at the head of the man and threatened to blow off his brains. The man handed over the money in a large polythene bag to the robber.

 “The robber pocketed his gun in order for him to be able to carry the bag briskly. It was when people at the gate saw that he had pocketed his gun and was about running to the waiting bike that they overwhelmed him.

“When the guy on the motorcycle saw that they had overpowered him, he took off on the bike.”
