Jos Flood Disaster: UniJos Female Students Stranded - Share Room With Male Students

About 50 female students of the University of Jos, occupying the ground floor of Block B, Naraguta hostel, were yesterday stranded having been displaced from their hostel as a result of flood.                                               
It is gathered that the displaced female students are currently residing in the male hostels while some
of them are
squatting with their friends in other female hostels.
Further investigations revealed that the hostels were flooded as a result of poor drainage system and the week-long heavy downpour which flooded the female hostel. The Dean of Students Affairs, Prof. Rotgak Gofwen and the hostel supervisor, Mr. M Ibrahim were at the hostel and described the situation as unfortunate.
The duo appealed to the students to be calm as the University authority is doing everything possible to prevent the reoccurrence of such mishap.
