The Lagos State Government says it has
prepared for the last lap of the rainy season with aggressive cleaning
of drainage channels and deployment of
engineers in the 57 councils.
It said the measures were the reasons
why despite the high intensity of rains experienced globally, the state
had not experienced serious flooding.
The Commissioner for the Environment,
Mr. Tunji Bello, stated this on Wednesday while announcing that Lagos
would observe the monthly environmental sanitation for September with
its attendant restriction of human and vehicular movements between 7am
and 10am on Saturday.
