Jungle Justice Ghana Style: Thief Tied To Tree...

Jungle Justice: Thief Tied To Tree

A SUSPECTED thief believed to be in his early 20s has been lynched on the Akosombo highway near the 1st Battalion of Infantry Base, Michel Camp, by unknown persons, in rather a horrible manner.
The deceased, who could not be immediately identified by residents, was tied with electric wire to a Neem tree with fractured legs and multiple wounds on most parts of his lifeless body.
He was said to have been
found earlier by a resident who raised an alarm to draw others to the scene.
The deceased’s arms and legs were fastened backwards around the tree which was situated within the Sebrepor Electoral Area of the Kpone-Katamanso District.
The assailants used the electric wire to tie his manhood to a wooden placard, and then extended the wire to a bicycle found close to the body, after brutalizing him.
When Daily Guide arrived at the scene around 6:20am Thursday morning, scores of people had trooped to the place to catch a glimpse of the deceased, with some heaping curses on him, as they described him as a notorious thief.
He was suspected to have been lynched elsewhere by his assailants, and finally fastened to the tree before his death. He was found naked with bruises on his head, with his clothes also around him.
Charles Dubin, assemblyman for the area, complained about the trend of stealing in the area, noting that “this might have angered some of the youth, for which they killed the deceased”.

He pleaded with residents, especially the youth, to desist from carrying out instant justice on suspects, urging them to instead arrest and hand them over to the police for proper investigations.

  2. This is so so pathetic. the heart of man is inherently wicked. this is gruesome, babaric, savage and a clear indication that lawlessness rules in Ghana. When will the african mind evolve from its dark, dingy, savage state in which it perpetually remains. This is reminiscent of racist America when white people took pleasure in lynching African- American people often referred to derogatively as Niggers, but for African people to be doing the same thing to themselves in the 21st century beggars belief. if we continue to take the law in our own hands, what will be left of society? Lynching has since become felony in America and rightly so. If it is true that the best Charles Dubin, the assemblyman of the area can do is plead with the youth, he should consider resigning the post he occupies. No one condones stealing, that is even if this man is really a thief but where is the law enforcement for God's sake? Those who committed this heinous crime by taking the law into their own hands have blood on their hands. They need to hunted down and purnished to serve as a deterrent to others who harbour similar tendencies. Stop the savagery and let the law take it course!!!!

Concerning this picture, it is the most barbaric thing i've seen this year. It is a shame that man can be so in-human to a fellow man.
