Court stops arrest of subsidy fraud suspect

 

The Federal High Court sitting in Lagos yesterday gave an order restraining the Attorney-General of the Federation and the Police, from arresting, harassing or detaining the Managing Director, Matrix Energy, Aliu Abdulkadir and two others.
Abdulkadir who is a suspect in a N43.291 billion fuel subsidy fraud had
prayed the court to grant his application for the enforcement of his fundamental rights.
In his ruling, Justice Okechukwu Okeke, ordered that Abdulkadir and two others should not be detained illegally over their alleged involvement in the fuel subsidy fraud.
He gave an order restraining the defendants, Attorney-General of the Federation and the Police, from arresting, harassing or detaining the suspects.
