A Russian vessel allegedly laden with arms was yesterday arrested by operatives of the Nigerian Navy in Lagos. The vessel with was identified as MV MYRE SEADIVER was alleged to be carrying more than 14 assorted Kalashnikov (AK 47) rifles, and 22 Banelli MRI rifles with 3,643 and 4,955 rounds of ammunition respectively.
According to source, the vessel which carried a Russian crew was flying a
Dutch Island Flag and belongs to the Moran Security Group of Moscow.

There is nothing "wahalaric" about this; this is what you get when you create a market for a particular product.
ReplyDeleteIf we continue to put up with an incompetence president, who has proved beyond reasonable doubts he is unable to handle the emerging security challenges, we invariably create a market for weapons and other implements of war, which merchants will willingly cash in.
So there is no wahala, just basic fact of life: if there is a market, you will equally find buyers and sellers. The Russians caught are just "balancing" the equation, with Boko Haram and the marauding Fulani in Plateau state as buyers, and the Jonathan led maladministration as facilitating the emergency of the market
