WTF! Police arraign 2 for photographing officers

The Police charged the two photo journalist for criminal conspiracy, intimidation, and threatening and assaulting a public servant

Two men, Ajukwu Umar, 24, and Musa Usman, 29, were on Thursday arraigned before a Karu Upper Area court for taking photographs of policemen on duty in the area without their consent.
Police prosecutor Umoh Inah told the court that the duo were remanded in prison custody for alleged criminal conspiracy, intimidation, and threatening and assaulting a public servant.
The accused persons were
arrested by inspector Bitrus Aulapson, who is attached to 50 Police Moblie Force, Abuja, at Maitama District, on August 10.

"When the policemen screened the memory card of the camera of the accused, they saw a lot of pictures of policemen," Inah told the court.
"These pictures were taken from the beats of the policemen, even in Lagos as well."
Inah said the offences contravened the provisions of Sections 97, 397, 265, 153 and 95 of the Penal code, but the accused persons pleaded not guilty.

He objected to the bail request of the accused and presented some of the pictures in court.
Inah said that some of the pictures were on the Internet, and that investigations were on to determine how far the pictures had gone.
The presiding judge, Alhaji Umar Kagarko, ordered that the accused be remanded in prison custody, and adjourned the case to December 5 for hearing.
