Must Answer Question! .....‘Whose children will a gay’ adopt?

Homosexuality is an aberration in both the African tradition and Christian religion. Reverend Father Basil Okoro, a Catholic priest based in Lagos told CHARLES ADINGUPU that marriage is not a contract but a covenant to continue procreation.
He queried whose children will those practising homosexualitywill adopt if their life style threatens the continuing
existence of God’s creation.

Position of the church in homosexuality.
It is an aberration from religions standpoint. From the Bible, our tradition, homosexuality is an abomination. Our tradition as Africans oppose the idea of homosexuality. Marriage is a two way affair – between a man and a woman.

And for the church, it recognises marriage to be between a man and a woman. The Code of Canon law that states the position of the church on marriage. Canon 35, of the 1983 Code of Canon Law which is the principal code states as follows: “The marriage covenant by which a man and woman establish themselves a partnership of their whole life and which of its own very nature is ordered to the well-being of the spouse and to the procreation and upbringing of children, has, between the baptised, been raised by Christ the Lord to the dignity of a sacrament.”
In other words, an arrangement as regards marriage that does not bring in male and female is an aberration. Therefore, the extent of a man and woman coming into marriage has been ordained all through by creation. There is no tree that produces itself without pollination.
Also, there is no animal in the world that is known to be a gay. The animals reproduce because the male and female copulate. Even Hermaphrodites with the male copulating himself, do it through the male and female organs.
From the word go, creation is between male and female.
Now, from the churches’ standpoint, this is a way that only the couple lives, breeds and support each other. But this support for one another is open to procreation.
But then, gay people are saying they have the right to live as gay but at the same time, saying that they have the rights to adopt children. Whose children are they going to adopt?
Ordinarily such people are sick. They are not normal. We look at them as from the point view of needing help. The church in Nigeria never support gay. But in Europe and America, the story is different in churches over there.
I remember meeting some Nigerians based in America who practise gay. They are very nice people. I took them through series of counselling.
Speaking the language they understand. But the truth is that they were molested by others when they were young. Those who molested them are usually people from royal and wealthy families. These are isolated cases. In other words, they must have had this ugly experience when they were under aged.
I’m very happy our laws are not silent about it. It is evil on the part of man and evil in the sight of God.

Difference between celibacy and gay
There are two different worlds. Celibacy means a self giving to the service of God. I’ve given that part of my body which I treasured my manhood for the sake of God’s own kingdom.
Also the canon law states on Celibacy as life consecrated through profession of the evangelical counsels in a stable form of living in which the faithful follow Christ move closely under the action of the Holy Spirit, and are total dedicated to God, who is supremely loved. By a new and special title, they are dedicated to seek the perfection of charity inn the service of God’s kingdom, for the honour of God, the building up of the church and the salvation of the world.
We are not concern about marriage or given into marriage and also not concerned about sexuality. The only thing that matters in my life is Christ.

Homosexuals are they cult members?
Well, I can’t say. You see when an evil thing starts, there are people who propagate this idea. So if you call these people cultists, it may be a wrong idea.

Since most world leaders are legalising gay practice including the American President, could it be signs of the end time?
Much as I respect Barack Obama, I’m disappointed. But the American pressure may have compelled the poor young man to bow to their needs.
However, I don’t see it as sign of the end-time. The end-time is only when God has ordained. It has never enter into the mind of man. No one knows not either the angels or the son of God knows the time.
The only thing for us is to hold on to the truth. The end can come today, it may be tomorrow or anytime. But when it comes, let us not be found wanting.
