Remember Samuel Idimoku, a baby suffering from a congenital heart disease published in The Guardian on Saturday, August 25, 2012? He is now living a healthy life after a successful operation at Narayana Hrudayalaya Hospital, Bangalore in India.
According to his father, Amos Idimoku, they (he, his wife and the baby) left Nigeria for India October 25 last year and
the operation was carried out October 30. The operation he says lasted for 45 minutes and they returned to Nigeria on November 21 last year too.
Through the help of an organisation, Ajegunle’s Meeting, rally and concert were held to raise money needed for the operation.
“Ajegunle people tried for us as they came out en mass. The Guardian carried the story and Wazobia FM on air informed Nigerians on the child’s condition. Daddy Showkey, Uncle P, a musician, Chief Ateke Tom and Abi aka Money Love, all played their parts. Chief Ateke Tom gave us $5,000. The money alone covers the treatment,” he says.
The grateful father recalls that it was at the concert that Chief Ateke Tom sent someone to announce his intention to foot the hospital expenses.
He however gave thanks to The Guardian, Ajegunle’s Meeting, Money Love and all other people that came out to show love through prayers many more.
“I am so happy and I give glory to God for His mercy because; I was really disturbed then but I am okay now.”
Samuel Idimoku is still going through medication and subsequently the family might be asked to come for check-ups in India. And he still needs drugs to keep him going.
Amos encourages people with such a problem not to panic because the ailment he battled with some months ago has now become a thing of the past.
“Do not allow people to deceive you with the cost of the operation. The treatment was only five thousand dollars,” he insists
The baby’s mother, Anita Idimoku, cannot stop thanking God for making the operation possible.
“There is a great difference now. He was always crying but you can see him playing and he sleeps well too. I give God all the glory and say “thank you” to all those who contributed to seeing my only child get well,” she reveals
She adds that she had never been in India but went there with the belief that all is well.
“I said to God that my going to India shall not be in vain because they told us that it was a 50-50 chance and a high risk for the child. But to God be the glory the whole operation was successful.” Amos Idimoku, the baby’s father, can be reached through this GSM: 08096631426
