A former Vice Chairman, Kwara state chapter of the Nigerian Medical Association (NMA), Dr Adewunmi Ariyo, has been killed by unknown assailants in his residence in Ilorin.
Tosin, wife of the deceased, who confirmed the death, said the five assailants, stormed their house at about 10 p.m on Thursday.
Ariyo said they dragged him to the sitting room where they killed him after collecting his car key and DVD player.
She said they then came upstairs to meet her, a nursing mother, telling her that
her husband had been killed and that she should cooperate with them and handover her jewellery.
Ariyo, 42, worked in the Dental Department, University of Ilorin Teaching Hospital, (UITH).

god will surely avenge his death. this is a man whose wife just gave birth to his only son after five years of infertility. that boy will never know his father. this is also a man who loved and cared for his wife and two daughters without sparing them anything short of luxury. they will never get gods forgiveness. they have caused eternal sorrow and lapsed that family into a state they may never recover from the fact that the murder was witnessed by the wife and children is enough to cause emotional instability. the perpetrators of this act will also not enjoy the fruits of their labour. their generation is cursed. as they have caused sorrow in a happy family, they will never experience joy throughout their lifetime and will also suffer a terrible death insha allah.
