Former governor of Plateau State and pioneer chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Solomon Lar died in the early hours of today in the United States after lapsing into coma in the last 48 hours. The Plateau state government has announced the death of Chief Solomon Lar, the first civilian governor of larger Plateau State.

political circulation and in a hospital in United States of America for medical treatment in the past nine months over age-related ailment.
He was last seen in Nigeria in June this year when he led a delegation of Middle Belt Forum to the Presidential Vila to support the second term bid of President Goodluck Joanthan and left immediately for the United States of America to continue with the treatment after the visit.
Lar was born in Pongaa, Langtang, Plateau State in April 1933.
