Interestingly the organisers said that more than 60,000 tickets had been sold for the game, in what will be the largest crowd ever to attend a football match in Atlanta. The previous record was 54,229 for the 2013 Gold Cup double header at the Georgia Dome.
Mexico, No. 21 in FIFA’s world rankings, is in a World Cup group that includes Brazil, Croatia and Cameroon. Meanwhile Nigeria, No. 47 in FIFA’s rankings, is in a group that includes Argentina, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Iran.
