BAD: Journalist 'Dunstan Ukaga' nabbed for Raping 11-year-old girl for 6months

A man who claims to be a freelance journalist has been arraigned for raping an 11-year-old girl over the period of 6 months.
The suspect, 39-year-old Dunstan Ukaga, appeared before....
a Chief Magistrate’s Court, sitting at Ebute-Metta, Lagos on Tuesday, 21 October.
Ukaga is facing a count-charge of having unlawful carnal knowledge of the girl-child.
According to the Police prosecutor, DSP Etim Ekankum, the defendant raped the minor several times between 24 April and 28 September, at his residence at Road 311, Block 2, flat 6, at Festac Town area of the state.
The defendant pleaded not guilty to the charge, after which Magistrate Demi-Ajayi admitted the defendant to bail in the sum of N500,000, with two sureties in like sum.
The magistrate ordered that the two sureties must deposit N30,000 each to account of the court’s Chief Registrar, and present to court evidence of three years tax payment to Lagos State government.
She also ordered that Ekankum duplicate the case file and forward it to the Director of Public Prosecution, DPP, for advice, while adjourning the case to 26 November.
