LATSET!! WHO declares Senegal free of Ebola virus

The World Health Organization, WHO, on Friday declared Senegal free from the current outbreak of Ebola virus.
No new cases have been detected after requisite 42 days surveillance. Its single imported case had been cured.
Though the country has been officially declared ‘Ebola free’ but WHO did warn that the...
country was still vulnerable to the risk of new cases of the disease being imported in.
WHO said: “While the outbreak is now officially over, Senegal’s geographical position makes the country vulnerable to additional imported cases of Ebola virus disease. It continues to remain vigilant for any suspected cases by strict compliance with WHO guidelines.”
