The Presidency has refuted reports claiming that President Muhammadu Buhari ordered the closure of the Aso Rock Villa chapel on Sunday.

According to the report, “an eyewitness who spoke on condition of anonymity, disclosed that heavily armed men stormed the.......
Aso Rock Chapel on Sunday, August 30, 2015 denying worshippers access to the church.”

“A visibly embarrassed Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, who worships at the Villa Church, arrived the Chapel and could be seen managing to conceal a worried expression over the incident.”

Reacting to the report, the Special Adviser on Media and Publicity to President Buhari on Saturday tweeted: “PMB orders Aso Villa chapel shut? No such thing. Rumour spawned by fecund imagination gone into overdrive. PMB respects freedom of worship.”

Also, Laolu Akande, media aide to Vice President Yemi Osinbajo tweeted: “Speculations that @MBuhari moved against Christian activities at the Aso Villa Chapel is a blatant lie. I personally worshipped there Sunday”

“Also claims that the children service at Aso Villa closed down is equally false. Please disregard some of the wild claims being reported.”
