Police detectives in Asaba, Delta State,
have arrested a housewife identified as Elizabeth Okolie in Okpanam
community for allegedly selling her baby for N1.5m.
It was learnt the woman (33), a trader
in one of the markets in the area, allegedly sold her baby when...
the
purported father refused to accept the paternity.
commissioner
in the state, Alkali Usman, confirmed that detectives acting on a tip
off arrested the woman on her way to Benin City after she had allegedly
sold the baby to unidentified buyer.
The police boss said the woman upon
interrogation, made useful statements to the police adding that the
police detectives are now after the buyer of the baby.
