The DPR Deputy Director, Depot and Jetty Operations, Mr. Buraimoh
Olarewaju, , made this known during the inspection visit to some oil
depots in Lagos metropolis.
The News Agency of Nigeria reports that Waziri Jetty is owned by the Nigerian
Port Authority.
Olarenwaju said that the suspected perpetrators were found of discharging the products at night from the badges directly into the awaiting trucks with the connivance of some security officers.
According to him, the depot has been shut down several times, but, the perpetrators re-opened it and continued with their illegal acts.
Also, Mr. Patrick Emordi, Head of Depots and Jetty Operation, said, ”On February, we sealed the Waziri Jetty and within few hours some security officers re-opened it.”
