A Plea for help!!

....Prudence
Prudence is one of the triplets born May 29, 1999. However  Peace, Prudence and Precious were certified normal. Two months later, they were
discharged. For two years, everything went well, then things began to fall apart. Prudence was suddenly struck by a strange fever and is currently bed-ridden.
Kendrick and Nkechi, the worried parents, managed the fever at home with paracetamol for a few days until, better judgement urged them to take the child to the University Teaching Hospital, UCH, Ibadan where the triplets were born.
Unfortunately, the hospital came out with a conflicting and disturbing diagnosis. Prudence was said to have been diagnosed of viral encephalitis (enlargement of the head) and subsequently, suffered severe brain damage with complications of blindness, hearing and speech deficits and seizure disorders.

A medical report dated October 2010 made available to Good Health Weekly and signed by Prof. Malomo of the Department of Neurological Surgery, UCH, Ibadan, confirmed the diagnosis.
However, a referral letter to Johns- Hopkins University Hospital, Baltimore, Maryland, USA, stated that Prudence needs a total of $200,000 (N32,000,000)for an urgent life-saving surgery and rehabilitation. Doctors warn that the life saving surgery must be done before she is 13. She is more than 12 years old now.
Ordeal

Prudence father Kendrick, an electrician, who  was sacked  due to his frequent absece from work as a result of his daughter’s condition said the family spends over N40, 000 to feed and provide some level of treatment for the child per week. He said that, “they have five children including her. It has been very difficult coping with the problem. I have spent my life savings on her since 2001. The last time she was admitted in 2010, we spent close to N1,000,000 and  sustaining her has become a nightmare.

Plea for help - Prudence, a triplet, seeks N32m for corrective brain surgery!

Kendrick (Prudence father) alleged that  neurosurgeons at UCH refused to admit the child since 2006. “The Physiotherapy department has indicated interest to commence multiple surgeries on the child but their effort will  amount to waste of resources, if the brain surgery is not done.
CT and MRI scans done reveal much occupation of fluid on the child brain and there is also an unusual growth suspected to be tumour on the brain. If this aspect is not addressed, every medication will result to waste of resources.”
Calling on good spirited Nigerians to assist, Kendrick said but for financial constrain, a competent hospital could handle this problem. He urged the Akwa Ibom State Governor, Godswill Akpabio, his Oyo State counterpart and Minister of Health, Prof.Onyebuchi Chukwu to help save his daughter.
