FCT demolishes popular prostitutes’ settlement in Abuja.

???...
Hard times awaits Abuja Service Providers commercial sex workers 'Ashawo' and their Abuja 'Big Boys' customers; as yesterday the Department of Development Control of the Abuja Metropolitan Management Council demolished illegal structures allegedly inhabited by commercial sex workers located off the popular
Gimbiya Street, Area II, Abuja.
The structures built with woods and numbering 42 were pulled down by a caterpillar and set ablaze by officials even as the prostitutes hurried to salvage their belongings.
The Assistant Director, Enforcement and Monitoring, Nathaniel Atebije, who led the operation, said the sex workers were warned earlier to remove the illegal structures and vacate the area.
“We had earlier cautioned the inhabitants of the settlement who are prostitutes to vacate the area, but they were adamant. We found people of questionable characters in the shanty village and we have to demolish the place as it constitute an eye sore to this area,” Atebije stated.
