A medical
report by the Lagos University Teaching Hospital (LUTH) and signed by Dr. R.W. Braimoh, a Consultant Physician/Nephrologist, says Peterson Amogu’s two kidneys are irreparably damaged.
LUTH’s medical report states, “Mr. Amogu Peter first presented to the nephrology clinic of this hospital (LUTH) on August 21, 2009. He was referred on account of acute exacerbation of chronic kidney disease secondary to Diabetes Mellitus nephropathy…”
Peterson’s life is still in danger. His health alert, according to medical report by LUTH, has reached a ‘secondary stage,” which represent ‘urgency!’
Either of his two damaged kidneys must be replaced as soon as possible. Fortunately, one of his younger brothers has volunteered to donate one of his; what remains is the funding for the transplant.
According to Peter, a letter by the Marketing Executive, Ruby Hall Clinic, India, Mr. Satish Jadhav, suggests that the transplant would cost N10million.
According to the letter, dated February 23: “Approximate cost for the Kidney transplant would be US$ 25,000; this includes investigations, treatment, medicines, 2 days hospitalization before transplant & 12 days hospitalization during Kidney transplant operation (2days in ICU) and 2 days hospitalization for Donor.
The kidney transplant package also includes: Food for patient and one attendant; Pick up and Drop (Airport to Hospital & vice versa) and Welfare (including Internet Facilities, Laundry Services, Hotel / service apartments, Air ticket booking and Visa / Legal Formalities)
“Apart from Kidney transplant package, the patient would require further investigations and cardiological investigations, which would cost additional USD1000. Patient has to stay in India at least 30 days during the treatment for follow up and rehabilitation (Not included in package) nearby hotel charges ranges from 20 USD to 100 USD per day, service apartments are also available at reasonable rates.
Peterson is therefore appealing to Nigerians, government, international and corporate organizations, NGOs and compassionate individuals to come to his rescue.
