The Ekiti State Police Command has detained Mr. Nnaefenwa Lucky, in connection with the beheading of his wife, Bose. Our correspondent gathered that the headless remains
of Bose, 40, who was suspected to have been killed for
ritual purposes,
were discovered in the bush by her husband who had asked her to bring
food to him.
It was gathered that the deceased, who had four
children, had prepared the food as instructed by her husband and was on
the way to the farm to give it to him when she was attacked and
decapitated by yet to be identified persons.
Residents told journalists who visited the area that
Bose’s attackers severed her head and neck, chopped off her arms and cut
some flesh from her buttocks.
This discovery obviously made some residents of the town to believe that the deceased was murdered for rituals.
The Chairman of Urhobo community in Aramoko-Ekiti,
Chief Samuel Okorefe, told journalists that he was told that Bose’s
husband came to town to call for help after the murder.
Okorefe said the deceased’s husband told the people that he found his wife along the bush path where she was beheaded.
The community leader stated that he and some other
people reported the case at the police station in the town and to the
Alara of Aramoko, Oba Olu Adeyemi.
He added that the police had deposited Bose’s remains at the Aramoko General Hospital mortuary.
