CRIMINAL! Police arrest fake Police officers

The Lagos State Police Command, on Friday, paraded 54-year-old Femi Ajewole for allegedly impersonating a police officer. The suspect was arrested last week following complaints from a resident of Igando area of the state that Ajewole, who had claimed to  be a Deputy Superintendent of Police,
had
defrauded him.
It was gathered that the suspect collected the sum of N30,000 from the complainant, whose name was withheld, with the promise to assist him secure employment into the Nigeria Customs Service.
Trouble started when Ajewole failed to fulfil his end of the bargain after four months, leading the complainant to report the case to the police.
The police trailed the suspect to Igando, where he was arrested.

The police spokesperson, Ngozi Braide, said the suspect and his gang had been impersonating police officers for three years before Ajewole's arrest and also revealed that the suspect used Igando as his base, and had lied to his wife and other family members that he was in the Police Force.
