Jimoh Musa attempted to rape me in hotel – Yemi

A 23-year-old woman, Yemi Adesoji, on Wednesday narrated how Jimoh Musa, attempted to rape her in a hotel room on October 8.
Adesoji told an
Ikeja Magistrate’s Court, Lagos, court that no sooner had she joined her boyfriend, Gabriel Ohima, who was fast asleep in a hotel in Maryland that Musa, who was occupying the next room walked into the place and indecently assaulted her.
She said, “I work as a waitress in another hotel within the same neighbourhood and on that day I closed a little bit late.
“After joining my boyfriend in the room, I forgot to lock the door. I had undressed and was only putting on brassier when Musa walked into the room and attempted to rape me on the bed I was sharing with Ohima.”
The hotelier, Joesph Nelson, said Ohima was fast asleep to the extent that he had to sprinkle him with cold water to get him awake minutes after the incident had happened.
Nelson who said he was sleeping in the room opposite Adesoji’s room, added that the incident came to him as a shock because Musa also had a woman in his room.
The charge sheet reads, “That you, Jimoh Musa, within the Ikeja magisterial district did attempt to commit felony to wit attempted rape by sexually assaulting, harassing and touching the private part of Yemi Adesoji without her consent.”
Musa, who was charged with nine counts bordering on attempted rape, sexual assault and stealing, pleaded not guilty to the offences.
His lawyer, Kolade Akanle, made an oral bail application urging the court to grant it on liberal terms.
Magistrate J.A. Anabor admitted the accused to bail in the sum of N100, 000 with two sureties in like sum.

The case was adjourned till November 6 for further hearing.
