2015?
The battle for 2015 in Akwa Ibom has assumed a deadly dimension, as the Akwa Ibom state People's Democratic Party (PDP) senator representing the Akwa Ibom North West constituency, Senator Aloysius Etok, has come openly to accused the state governor, Godswill Akpabio, of threatening to assassinate him within a week for daring to insist on retaining his senatorial seat which Mr. Akpabio has declared interest for in 2015.
The senator said at a news briefing weekend that Mr. Akpabio has unleashed his “hit squad” on him, with threatening text messages advising him to renounce his ambition for another term, or be targeted in seven days.

He said the governor has instructed his killer squad and different groups including some local government chairmen that if he don’t retract the statement that he (senator Etok) will contest the 2015 senatorial election within seven days, he will either be dead to stop me or alive to retract the statement.
According to senator Etok, he said that since he made the comments, a faction of the state House of Assembly has passed a resolution deriding him, and warning him that only an Akpabio candidature to the senate would be supported in 2015.
Senator Etok reminded of what happened during his second term struggle; that as soon as they knew he was going to contest, his wife was kidnapped. After the release of his wife, his mother in law was kidnapped, “When she was released, she died because of the torture she received in the hands of the kidnappers. As a result of that his father-in-law died of heart break.
He finally said that if anything happens to him, he want the world to know that Governor Akpabio is after his life.
He pleaded with Nigerians to ask Governor Akpabio what he has done to him Mr Akpabio.
