FEC Approves N29b For Infrastructure Development In The FCT


The Federal Executive Council has approved contracts worth over N29 billion for infrastructure development in the Federal Capital Territory.
It approved the provision of water in the Asokoro extension to the tune of N1.7 billion and the dualization of the lower Usuma-Gurara dam road project, as infrastructure development and service delivery in the Federal Capital Territory took centre stage in the weekly meeting.
The meeting presided over by Vice President Namadi Sambo, in the absence of President Jonathan had in attendance about 14 Ministers  including the FCT Minister Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed, who hinted that the turnout wouldn’t hinder the deliberations for the week.

The FCT Minister stressed on the need for water in Dallas and Sunrise estates, while the minister of mines and steel development, Mohammed Sada gave technical insight on the need for water in that area.
The dualization of the lower Usuma dam road project was also approved; because it provides an alternative route to the north western part of the country and the cost of completing the project was put at N28billion.
The federal executive council believes that these approvals will make the federal capital territory better and more habitable for  Nigerians.
