Lagos State Government is commencing a wellness health week in which it will carry out an integrated free screening and awareness exercise for breast cancer, prostate cancer, hypertension, diabetes and other Non Communicable Diseases, NCD.
The exercise which kicked off today, will run through Monday, November 25 to Friday, November 29, in all local government and Local Council Development areas of the state.
The wellness health week which is being organized to tackle the spectre of inadequate knowledge and awareness of the symptoms, signs and effects of untreated hypertension, diabetes, cancer of the breast,
cervix and prostate, among other NCDs, is designed to create awareness about their early detection.
