VIDEO: False Asset Declaration: Saraki’s Lawyers walks out on Code of Conduct Tribunal

Counsel to the Senate President Bukola Saraki today staged a walkout on the Code of Conduct Tribunal (CCT) Panel, after heated arguments on whether the CCT could go on with its proceedings despite awaiting the Supreme Court ruling.

The Justice, seating at the CCT against Saraki, Justice Umar Danladi had insisted on continuation with the proceeding citing section 305 of the administration of Criminal Justice Law to give his ruling pending the submission from the Supreme Court.

Meanwhile, Dr. Saraki’s legal team has described the decision of the Justice as ‘judicial rascality’ adding that it will not be a part of such process.

The CCT however adjourned the case to 19th November, 2015.

It will be recalled that a text message was sent out to Nigerian Senators urging them to accompany embattled Senate President Bukola Saraki to his corruption trial at the Code of Conduct Tribunal in Abuja. See message below;
